Oxandrolone USP 10 mg

Description:

Oxandrolone oral tablets contain 10 mg of the anabolic steroid oxandrolone. Indications and Use: Oxandrolone is indicated as adjunctive therapy to stimulate weight gain after weight loss following extensive surgery, chronic infections or severe trauma, as well as in certain patients who, without certain pathophysiological reasons, are unable to gain or maintain a normal weight.

Clinical pharmacology:

Anabolic steroids are synthetic derivatives of testosterone. Certain clinical effects and adverse reactions demonstrate the androgenic properties of drugs in this class. Complete dissociation of anabolic and androgenic effects has not been achieved.

Controversies:

Known or suspected prostate or breast cancer in men. Breast carcinoma in women with hypercalcaemia (androgenic anabolic steroids may stimulate osteolytic bone resorption).

Adverse Reactions:

The following adverse reactions have been associated with the anabolic used.

Steroids:

Liver: cholestatic jaundice with, rarely, liver necrosis and death. Hepatocephalus neoplasms and hepatic peliosis with prolonged therapy.

Under the supervision of a doctor or physician.
